The Limits of Objectivity
THOMAS NAGEL is a Professor of Philosophy at Princeton University. He was educated at Cornell, Oxford, and Harvard, and taught from 1963 to 1966 at the University of California, Berkeley, before moving to Princeton. He has been a Fellow of the Guggenheim and National Science Foundations. Professor Nagel is the author of The Possibility of Altruism (1970) and Mortal Questions (1979), and associate editor of Philosophy and Public Affairs.
