Two Hundred Years of Reactionary Rhetoric: The Case of the Perverse Effect
ALBERT O. HIRSCHMAN was born in Berlin in 1915. He studied economics in Paris, London, and Trieste before coming to the United States. He joined the Federal Reserve Board in 1946 and worked on the financial problems of postwar reconstruction in Western Europe. He lived in Bogota, Colombia, from 1952-56 where he was a financial advisor for the National Planning Board and a private consultant.
