Poetry and the Mediation of Value: Whitman on Lincoln
Helen Vendler is A. Kingsley Porter University Professor in English at Harvard University. She was educated at Emmanuel College, the University of Louvain, and Boston University, and received her Ph.D. from Harvard University. She is a member of the American Academy of Arts and Letters, the American Academy of Arts and Sciences, the American Philosophical Society, and the Norwegian Society of Sciences and Letters. She is the recipient of the Charles Stewart Parnell Fellowship, Magdalene College, Cambridge; she has also received fellowships from the Wilson Center and the Guggenheim Foundation.
