Speaker R.M. Hare

RICHARD HARE studied classics and philosophy at Balliol College, Oxford, before and after serving in the Second World War. He was a Fellow there from 1947 to 1966, when he moved to Corpus Christi College as White’s Professor of Moral Philosophy. He has held visiting posts at the Universities of Delaware, Michigan, and Princeton, the Australian National University, and the Center for Advanced Study in the Behavioral Sciences in Stanford, and has lectured in many countries.
