FREEMAN DYSON was born in England and educated at the universities of Cambridge and Birmingham. During World War II he worked as a civilian scientist at the headquarters of the Royal Air Force Bomber Command. After the war he went to Cornel1 University and became Professor of Physics there. Since 1953 he has been Professor at the Institute for Advanced Study in Princeton.
