Environmental Challenges of the 1990s Our Responsibility To Ward Future Generations
GRO HARLEM BRUNDTLAND, Prime Minister of Norway in 1981 and again from 1986 to 1991, holds both an M.D. and an M.P.H. degree. Her long record of involvement in politics has included several ministerial positions and an established leadership in the Labour Party in Norway. She is well known for her work on environmental issues, for which she earned a seat on the UN World Committee on Environment and Development, and received the Third World Prize for Work on Environmental Issues in 1989.
