LIAM HUDSON knew from the age of sixteen that he wanted to be a psychologist and pursued that goal through an M.A. at Oxford and a Ph.D. from Cambridge. He has held a number of established posts -a fellowship at King’s College, Cambridge, chairs in Edinburgh and at Brunel, as a member of the Institute for Advanced Study at Princeton -but he has, in his own words, “always felt most at ease” in his home.
