Taming Chance: Randomization in Individual and Social Decisions
JON ELSTER, born in 1940, divides his life between Norway, France, and the United States. He is currently Professor of Political Science and Philosophy at the University of Chicago and Research Director at the Institute for Social Research, Oslo. He has also taught at the University of Paris and the University of Oslo. He has been visiting professor at the University of California at Berkeley and Stanford University, at the California Institute of Technology, and the Ecole des Hautes Etudes en Sciences Sociales (Paris), and visiting fellow at All Souls College, Oxford.
