Peace After War: Our Experience
Carl Bildt is the former prime minister of Sweden, having served from 1991 to 1994. He was a member of Parliament from 1979 to 2001, and chair of Sweden’s Moderate Party from 1986 to 1999. He was also chair of the International Democratic Union from 1992 to 1999. Following his term in government, he was asked to become the European Union special representative to the former Yugoslavia in 1995, and served as cochair of the Dayton Peace Accords later the same year.
